SPATS

Spats

Spats are worn with our Number 1 and Number 2 uniform. Also called “spatter-dashers”, they were originally worn by both civilians and soldiers to keep dirt and debris out of their boots. Spats fell out of frequent use by society during the 1920s. Today they are mostly tanned white, although brown and black was used in prior centuries. Their use today is chiefly ceremonial as worn by Pipe & Drum Bands.  #tradtionhonourpride #edmontonfirefighters #edmontonfirerescue #Pipeanddrumband #spats #rghardie
