Douglas W. Robinson (Doug) May 31, 1935 - May 24, 2021 The family sadly announces the peaceful passing of Doug Robinson in his home on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the age of 85. Doug was predeceased by his father Cleland and his mother Jean. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy, children Joe Robinson and Bonnie (Brent) Sperling, as well as the lights of his life - his granddaughters: Melissa Robinson and Maddy and Amelia Sperling. He also leaves behind his two brothers, Elmer and Edward Robinson, and many other loving relatives and friends. Doug was always happiest when he was helping someone else, whether it was assisting in building the community hall or volunteering with numerous community groups. He began his career as a heavy duty mechanic working in the oil fields, but his 19 years spent at the Edmonton Fire Department Service Centre allowed him to express his love of helping others and left him with countless memories and lifelong friendships. His warm nature and kind spirit will truly be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, it was Doug's wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to the Edmonton Firefighters Burn Treatment Society. Per his request, his remains will be interred at Westlawn Funeral Home & Cemetery in a private ceremony.
