It is with great sadness that the family of Jerry Wilson announce that Jerry passed away Saturday, March 19, after a valiant struggle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry will be sadly missed and always remembered by his loving and ever devoted wife, Dorothy; his best friend of 63 years.
Jerry rejoins his beloved parents, Clarence and Ida, his twin sister, Anne and his younger sister Elaine and grandson, Jesse.
Jerry will always be remembered by his three sons: Trevor (Linda), Trent (Raeann) and Troy (Jo-Anne) and cherished by his grandchildren: Brennan and Emma, Annie, Kathryn and Breanna, Renee and Rachael, Mark and great grandson, Mason, brothers, Bob (Val), Dave (Lynn), and sister Kathy and all of his nieces and nephews.
To his family and friends, Jerry was an artist, a singer and often, a comedian. He always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips.
Jerry was a kind and gentle person who cherished spending his time with family and friends. He was a devoted father and grandfather. Jerry spent every spare hour playing, and doting on his sons, and grandchildren, while spending every moment with the love of his life, Dorothy.
The legacy of Jerry’s kind and generous spirit is highlighted by his dedicated service as a fire fighter for 33 years; with 22 years service to community with the Edmonton Fire Department.
Dorothy would like to thank Palliative and Home-care, and everyone for their kindness, caring, condolences, during Jerry’s illness and following his passing.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on April 23, 2022 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Edmonton Firefighters Burn Treatment Society.
