The Edmonton Firefighters Piping and Drumming Society was established to bring cultural awareness around traditional Bagpipes & Drums music to the City of Edmonton & surrounding areas. The society will bring this traditional art form & music to community events through performances & fundraisers, and will promote the continuation of marching band techniques & history. The society will also participate at various functions, both within the Fire Department and at
the request of various community partners & charitable organizations.
Our mission is to provide emotional support and solace to the family and friends of fellow firefighters and first responders who have lost their lives in the line of duty; foster goodwill towards Edmonton Fire Rescue Services, the Edmonton Firefighters’ Union, the City of Edmonton and its citizens through community and Charity events; provide dignity, honour, and pride to Edmonton Fire Rescue Services & IAFF Local 209 through ceremonies and functions while out in the community, while building and maintaining the tradition and spirit of the Firefighter.
