We are very proud to announce that Drum Major. Adams and Drum Sergeant. Siebenga have returned from RCMP depot in Regina in one piece, and have successfully passed the RCMP Drum Major course. The course was recently held the week of June 10-16, 2019.

It was an honour and a privilege to have been invited by the RCMP to attend this course. Mike and Jorgen represented The Edmonton Firefighters Piping and Drumming Society to the fullest of honours. They had put on many miles and put in long days through out the week long course. Most importantly they made some new connections with other Drum Majors from across Canada. The skills and knowledge obtained from this course will benefit not only our Pipes & Drums Band. It will also benefit Edmonton Fire Rescue & its members, as well as our great City. 

Being the only Firefighters in attendance in the course amongst several Military and Policing agencies from across the country, they enjoyed the fun ribbing and good ole back and forth fun within our cultures! It helped ease the stress of what was at times, alot of info for our fine men to take in!

We want to whole heartedly thank all the staff from the course and the RCMP for the opportunity to attend this course. The knowledge passed on to the candidates is immeasurable. 

We will now look at getting are members kitted up as part of the Drum Major uniform!
