We would like to introduce our Bands first Chaplain. 

John Dowds will join us as an honourary member of our society. Chaplain Dowds has served as Edmonton Fire Rescues Chaplain for the last 16 years and is also lead Chaplain for the City of Edmonton & Senior Mental Health Consultant. 

Welcome Sir! 

Chaplains in the fire service provide spiritual and personal counseling to firefighters and other staff members. Chaplains for a Fire Department Pipes & Drums band provides the same services as they would with regular members of the fire service, but with additional knowledge and understanding of what a pipe and drum band provides to the fire department, its members and the community. The Chaplain also understands what is required for band members to undertake such a mission both mentally and spirtually in order to fulfill the objective of our society.
